optimistic, and energetic, must be customer service focused and be committed to our organization and values. The Purchasing Coordinator must exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with CHC customers and represent CHC in a positive manner.


Reporting to the Manager, Information & Technology, the Help Desk Technician is the first point of contact for all information technology user support. The Help Desk Technician will be responsible for the corporation’s help desk ticketing system, providing user support to all staff in all areas of information technology and ensuring all Information Technology equipment functions correctly.


The Help Desk Technician is an information technology specialist in supporting end user’s technology equipment and must have the skills to plan, administer, configure, and maintain individual and networked computer systems as well the ability to provide excellent technical support for computer users in a business environment.


The Help Desk technician must have good communication, be customer focused, enjoy problem-solving, be logical and very well organized.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Answer user inquiries regarding computer software / hardware or peripheral device’s operation to resolve problems.
  • Manage and maintain corporate computers, applications, and other hardware devices.
  • Maintain a complete inventory of user computers, monitors, and other hardware devices.
  • Manage and report the corporate ticketing system. Maintain and adhere to corporate SLA for user requests through the ticketing system.
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • Maintain and enroll corporate devices with cloud-based unified management service.
  • Maintain local and network printers, fax systems, and other peripheral devices.
  • Manage backup and restore operations for user requests.
  • Manage and maintain corporate users / groups in the Active Directory.
  • Maintain corporate applications – install, update, and support.
  • Maintain corporate computers and applications up to date by installing application patches, upgrades, and configuration.
  • Manage and maintain anti-virus and malware definitions.
  • Monitor and manage email systems for spam, phishing, and other issues.
  • Support Microsoft applications as it pertains to user productivity application suites such as MS Office 365, SharePoint, MS Project, etc..
  • Maintain phone system for user extensions, voice mails, cellular phones, pagers, etc.
  • Support HR in the onboarding of new users for orientation, presentation, or training.
  • License management of corporate applications and users.
  • Set up computers and equipment including ongoing operating system updates, etc.
  • Support CHC’s basic property management application (Yardi).
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.


Requirements:

  • Post-secondary 2-year diploma in computer science, business systems, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a Microsoft networked environment.
  • Knowledge and experience supporting a range of office productivity software such as Microsoft Office (O365), word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, project management, and similar applications, server backup software, database management, and supporting corporate users.
  • Knowledge of HTML/PHP, PowerShell scripting, web-based applications, intranet, etc.
  • Experience in hardware and software installation, server operating system administration, information technology troubleshooting; technical support & training users in everyday functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of telephone system use and administration.
  • Proven ability to use manufacturer’s/supplier’s documentation and support services to become familiar with new products and to introduce them effectively.
  • Proven ability to analyze the cause of problems and find appropriate solutions.
  • Able to support multi-location corporate branch offices and their users.
  • Ability to maintain, through self-directed learning, up-to-date knowledge in IT field.
  • Understanding of ergonomic principles related to workstation and equipment setup.
  • Integrity & discretion are required to protect corporate confidentiality of accessible information.
  • Yardi Property Management system’s technical knowledge is considered an asset.
  • MS Certified Associate – for Windows 10, Office 365, SharePoint is considered an asset.
  • Certification in or work experience demonstrating knowledge of programming such as HTML, Visual Studio, business intelligence, SQL, C Sharp, Python, etc. is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based systems such as AWS or Azure is considered an asset.
